Netmums
Founded in 2000, Netmums is the UK’s fastest-growing online parenting website with over 1.2 million members and over 4 million monthly visits.
Netmums is a family of 151 local sites that cover the UK, each site offering information to mums on everything from where to find toddler groups and how to eat healthily to where to meet other mums. The local sites are backed by a wealth of parenting articles that start with pregnancy and follow through each stage of childhood helping mums to enjoy a happy and healthy family life. Much of the content of Netmums comes from the users with over 400,000 comments added each month.
Netmums has spearheaded many campaigns over the years to improve the lives of families in the UK. We run a unique and valuable government backed online Parent Support Service which help thousands of mums each month.
Netmums is also available offline too with the publication of eight books. Our books respond to the practical needs of real mums who juggle increasingly busy lives, and offer support and guidance for those times when it’s difficult to cope with the demands of family life.
United Kindmums
Our latest campaign is United Kindmums, a year of action by Netmums members where mums around the country are united in making small changes to their lives to make bigger changes to others. Find out more about our latest campaign and how you can get involved here.
Netmums Real Parenting Revolution
At the start of 2011 Netmums launched our Real Parenting Revolution which called for an end to the illusion of perfect parenting. We believe that the ongoing perception that other parents are doing better than we are is damaging and can wreak havoc on mothers’ self-esteem and mental wellbeing. Netmums called for a societal understanding and acknowledgement of the challenges of being a parent in our post-recession era.
Parent Bloggers Network
1st July 2011 saw the launch of the Netmums Parent Bloggers Network, a site which
showcases many different kinds of parenting blogs from across the country and beyond. The network has been created for those new to blogging, established bloggers and those who are ‘blog-curious’! In just two months of launching the site attracted almost 1,000 bloggers and over 16,000 blog posts and we’ve been delighted to see our Develop a blog section inspire many new bloggers. The site is proving to be a great new resource for both bloggers and readers and we are looking forward to watching it develop. We have big plans to make our bloggers network bigger and better in 2012.
The Netmums Blog
In conjunction with our Parent Bloggers Network, Netmums are hugely excited about our shiny relaunched Netmums blog. We’ve been blogging over on our main site since 2007 (read our archive if you want a peek) but we thought it was about time we had a proper stand-alone blog with all the whizzy buttons and gadgets on offer.
Through our blog we hope to bring you some behind the scenes peeks from Netmums as well as new developments from the Parent Bloggers Network, some fabulous guest posts and lots, lots more. Who knows, we might even join in with some of the great memes that are going on in the blogosphere. Make sure you keep up with all our news by signing up to get our blog posts in your in-box every week. It’s very easy to do over on our homepage. Every week we’ll be picking a Blog of the Week from the Parent Bloggers Network and showcasing it on the Netmums Blog – if you’re a blogger make sure you add your blog to the Network so you get the chance to be picked.
